झारखण्ड
Land of Forests and tribal heritage, mineral treasure house, industrial powerhouse, and home to diverse indigenous communities. Where nature's bounty meets industrial progress.
About Jharkhand
Jharkhand, meaning "Land of Forests," was carved out of Bihar in 2000 to become India's 28th state. Known as the mineral capital of India, it holds about 40% of the country's mineral wealth, including coal, iron ore, copper, mica, and uranium. The state is home to major industrial cities like Jamshedpur, often called the "Steel City of India," and Bokaro, known for its steel plants.
Rich in tribal heritage, Jharkhand is home to 32 tribal communities, including Santhal, Munda, Ho, and Oraon, who have preserved their unique cultures, languages, and traditions for centuries. The state's dense forests, waterfalls, and hills make it a biodiversity hotspot, while its mineral wealth has made it an industrial powerhouse. From the birthplace of legendary tribal leader Birsa Munda to modern industrial achievements, Jharkhand represents the perfect blend of indigenous heritage and industrial progress.
